1 INJURED IN NEWTON SHOOTING: POLICE INVESTIGATIONS ONGOING

Police on St. Kitts are investigating a shooting incident that occurred in Newtown last night, (Sunday 9th December) in which a young man was shot and injured.

According to a Police press release, they received a report at about 9 p.m. on December 09 and responded immediately. The police said, ‘Upon arrival they met Technicians with the Emergency Medical Service attending to 33-year-old Kevis Riley of Lower Carty Alley.’

The release further stated that, “preliminary investigations so far have revealed that Riley was walking along Shephard Street, Newtown when he was approached from behind by two armed, unknown assailants who opened fire at him.”

Riley was shot several times about the body and was transported to the Joseph N. France Hospital where he is listed as being in a stable condition.

The Crime Scene Unit processed the scene for Items of evidential value.

“The Police are making an appeal to anyone who might have any information in relation to this incident to call the Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) at 467-1887, 467-1888, or 662-3468 or their nearest Police Station. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.”
