Basseterre, St. Kitts, September 11, 2018 – A Beach-Allen Primary School student was rushed to the J. N. France General Hospital Tuesday afternoon, following a missile throwing incident between students of the Washington Archibald High School (WAHS) and the Basseterre High School (BHS).

According to multiple reports boys from the BHS and the WAHS were throwing missiles at each other when one of the missiles struck the male primary school student.

The student reportedly suffered a cut to his head and was rushed to the Accident and Emergency Unit by an ambulance of the Emergency Medical Services (EMS).

His condition was not immediately known.

This is the start of second week of the new school year, but last’s week’s opening at the BHS was marred by several gang-related fights at the school housed in temporary wooden buildings at Taylors since the Team Unity Government abandoned the East Park Range and Victoria Road sites.

According to sources one or more students were stabbed last week during the first two or three days of school, resulting in the deployment of the Police Mobile Unit in the area.

“It was there for two days last week after the stabling incident, but this week, it did not show up,” the source said.
