Braithwaite and his men have etched themseleves in the CWI history books; the Combined Campuses & Colleges Marooners claimed its maiden Super50 title on Sunday. Winning the final by 6 wickets with 74 balls remaining.

A huge milestone has been achieved by the CCC Marroners. Leading from the front, Braithwaite emotional celebrations was indicative of a great achievement.

After the game he said:

“It’s an overwhelming feeling. I put that right up there, just a little below the World Cup in 2016.”

“Knowing how far we’ve come. Knowing all the challenges that we have had, not only in the sport but the programme. Being CCC for us to work as hard as we worked and come out and play the brand of cricket that we played. It must be pleasing for old time West Indies fans as well to watch the bowlers come in and bowl fast and swing the ball and watch the batsmen take their attack to the bowlers.”

Brathwaite bagged 3 for 43 and added 30 with the bat in the team’s win.

Chasing 205 set by Guyana, Kyle Corbin anchored the CCC Marooners innings as he scored a half century, (72) off of 53 balls.

Jermaine Levy impressed with the ball as he claimed 4 for 43.
