BASETERRE, ST. KITTS – A Church Service at the Swanston Memorial Methodist Church in Dieppe Bay on Sunday will begin a number of events to mark the 85th Anniversary of the St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party (SKNLP).

National Political Leader, the Right Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas said Wednesday, the Service begins at 9 am and will see active participation of the SKNLP leadership in the service.

Dr. Douglas, Prime Minister from July 1995 to February 2015, is currently the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly.

“The Church Service is to give God thanks for the life of the Party and to remember all those who have sacrificed and those who have struggled over the last 85 years to have brought the Party to where it is today. Those who would have served under the banner of the Party in Government and in Opposition as well as the St. Kitts-Nevis Trades and Labour Union in the tremendous contribution that has been made in the social, economic and political development of our country,” said Dr. Douglas during Wednesday’s “Issues” on Freedom 106.5 FM.
