Gun-toting criminals continue to instill fear across the Federation

​Basseterre, St. Kitts – Criminal elements in St. Kitts and Nevis haven’t been afraid to execute crimes as of late. Two robberies on Friday 5 May are just two of the latest incidents that have rocked the twin island Federation following a double murder on Nevis last month (April).

Malcolm Rouse, the driver of Passenger bus Malcom X was a target of a gun-toting bandit on Friday night, (April 5) in St. Pauls and Ocean Cold Storage was robbed earlier in the afternoon on that very same day. 

Information from the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force indicates that Rouse arrived home after 9pm and after parking his passenger bus he spotted an armed bandit. 

Rouse ran into the back of his property to avoid the bandit. However, the bandit proceeded to enter the bus and made good with a cellphone and some coins.
Earlier that Friday, news quickly spread through social media networks that Ocean Cold Storage located in the Industrial Site area was robbed by three armed assailants. 

According to information received, the robbers were outfitted in army attire with masks.

The assailants entered the establishment after closing hours and robbed the cashier of an undisclosed sum of money and a cellular phone.

The bandits escaped in an unknown vehicle. 

Both inicidents occurred without any injuries but the police have their work cut out for them.

While investigations are ongoing no official press releases have been disseminated by the Police Public Press Relations Unit with regards to the robberies.
