High-ranking St. Kitts and Nevis government official in custody on alleged indecent assault charge

Basseterre, St. Kitts, November 15, 2018 – WINNFM is reporting that a high-ranking St. Kitts and Nevis government official remains in police custody after being arrested on Tuesday afternoon and charged with an alleged sexual offence.

The individual reportedly indecently assaulted a young female on October 31.

The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force in a release said a man from the Basseterre area was arrested and charged on November 13 for the offence of Indecent Assault.

The offence was allegedly committed on October 31, 2018.

The victim reported the matter to the Police on November 9.

Police said investigations into the matter are ongoing.

WINNFM said the individual will have to seek bail from a high court judge and if convicted could be jailed for at least ten years.
