Man escaped serious injury after coming under a hail of bullets on Upper Shaw Avenue Wednesday night

Basseterre, St. Kitts, December 21, 2017 – A man escaped serious injuries after he came under a hail of bullets on Upper Shaw Avenue, Basseterre on Wednesday night.

 

Vance Parris was shot in one of his legs after armed masked men reportedly alighted from a black vehicle and fired several rounds from their weapons.

 

Police investigating the shooting cordoned off Upper Shaw Avenue between Cayon Street and Central Street and recovered numerous spent shells.

 

Neighbours in the area reported hearing multiple gunshots.

“It looks like a war zone. It sounded like Baghdad,” a person who lives in the area said by telephone.
