BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, April 29th 2017 – The Government of St. Kitts and Nevis’ Prime Minister, Dr. the Hon. Timothy Harris paid United States lobbyist, Lanny Davis nearly US$53,000 (EC$143,100) during the first half of 2016, although the Prime Minister Dr. the Hon. Timothy Harris told Parliament in December 2015, Mr. Davis’ service comes with no cost to the government.

According to News Americas Now, the payment to Mr. Davis has been disclosed by the United States Attorney General’s latest FARA (Foreign Agents Registration Act).

“The government of St. Kitts & Nevis paid Lanny J. Davis & Associates, LLC of 1900 M Street, NW, Washington, DC US$52,752.30 for the six month period ending June 30, 2016 also for lobbying. The law firm provided legal advice and services to assist the government to address the concerns of the U.S. Treasury Department and the Canadian government and to review and advise the foreign principal on achieving enhanced due diligence and background vetting related to the Citizenship-by-Investment Program,” News Americas Now stated in its story dated Friday 28th April 2017.

“The government of St. Kitts has asked me, as an attorney, for assistance,” Davis is quoted in The Atlantic dated December 6 2015.

In the Atlantic Report, Dr. Harris said he has come to know Lanny Davis well.

“Lanny brings a wide range of skills – the skill set of an attorney, the experience of one who has been in government, an ability to work with people on different sides of the aisle in Congress,” he says in his booming, accented bass. “So we believe that those relationships will put us in a good position to reach out to influential decision-makers in Congress and in government to ensure the continued success of our program.”

Harris told the National Assembly in December 2015 that Davis has agreed to help St. Kitts and Nevis in its efforts to remove the FINCEN Advisory on St. Kitts and Nevis.

“Mr Davis service comes with no cost to the government of St Kitts and Nevis,” a St. Kitts-Nevis Information Service (SKNIS) release stated.

“On December 4, 2015, I was retained by Prime Minister, the Honorable Timothy Harris, Head of the Government of the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis. We were asked to conduct an independent review of the increased efforts of the St. Kits and Nevis Government to enhance and strengthen its vetting and background checking procedures under its CBI,” Davis wrote in an article posted on The Daily Caller website dated January 26, 2017.
