POLICE CONDUCTS EXTENSIVE SEARCH FOR MISSING TEEN

Basseterre, St. Kitts, May 17, 2017(RSCNPF) The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force conducted an extensive search of one the areas surrounding where missing teenager Leanna Napoleon was reported last seen.  

 

A combined search team gathered on Wednesday (May 17) shortly after day-break to search an expansive area in Buckley’s bordering the F. T. Williams Highway. 

 

The team consisted of officers of the Special Service Unit (SSU), the Anti-Drug Unit, Recruits from the Police Training School, four teams from the K-9 unit, officers of the St. Kitts and Nevis Fire and Rescue Services, soldiers of the St. Kitts Nevis Defence Force and a team from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA). 

 

According to Assistant Commissioner of Police responsible for Operations, ACP Terrance James, who led the search, “this was the second search to be conducted in the Buckley’s area.” ACP James added,” other extensive searches are planned.” 

 

Leanna Napoleon is 17 years of age and stands 5 feet, 5 inches. She is medium in build and has long black hair. She was reported missing after being last seen on Monday (May 8).  

 

The Police investigation has led to interviews of persons in the areas where Leanna Napoleon was last reported seen (Buckley’s Site and Fort Street). Searches of the surrounding areas have also been conducted. Missing Person flyers have been distributed, and on Tuesday (May 16) a notice of a reward for information was issued. 

 

ACP James said, “we have followed every lead, and will continue to do so until Leanna is reported safe,” and went on to make an appeal for the public to share any information they may have.

 

He said, “the Police solicits the assistance of the Public in this and all investigations and persons with information are encouraged to pass the information to the Police by calling any Police Station, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477(TIPS) or by using the SKN Crime Reporter App on their Smartphone. Together we can make a difference.”
