Popular Gospel show host “Bro Burnell” robbed

Basseterre, St. Kitts – Popular Gospel show host, George Nolland also known as  “Bro Burnell” of Freedom FM fame was held up and robbed by 2 armed masked men as he made his way into work early Thursday morning, (April 19).

According to the news item from Freedom FM, “Brother Burnell” told Freedom Fm Newsdesk that he had just left his home in the Mc Knight area sometime after 3 am, and was walking along Central Street in the vicinity of Browne Bakery, when he was accosted by two masked men  who demanded that he hand over his personal belongings.

The gospel show host readily complied and the men took some $500 in cash, his cell phone and medication to treat his diabetic condition. Unfortunately, the robbers made good with their escape while leaving Bro Burnell shaken but unharmed.
A formal report of the incident was made to the Basseterre police station.  After, ‘Bro Burnell’ reported for work at Freedom Fm where he informed his listeners of his traumatizing ordeal.

“Bro Burnell” has been the host of Freedom Fm’s Gospel Mix aired from from 4 to 7 am weekdays and 4 to 11am on Sundays for the past 6 years.

Investigations are currently ongoing.
