Recipients of the Poverty Alleviation Program can look forward to their payments on the 28th of February and the 2nd of March.

Starting the 28th of February nationals and residents who already provided their bank details will have their monies deposited directly to their accounts.

While those who are yet to provide banking information or prefer to hold their cheque in their hands, cheques will be available on Saturday 2nd of March.

Such revelations were made by Prime Minister Timothy Harris while giving a statement in the National Assembly, yesterday morning.

Cheques will be disbursed at the Inland Revenue on the Bay Road from 8:30 (am) to 3:30 (pm).

Residents on Nevis will be guided accordingly.

Prime Minister Harris encouraged persons to walk with their official IDs as “this makes the payment easier.”

According to Harris, over $301 million dollars have been expended under the initiative thus far with over 3500 beneficiaries.

He hinted that the program will be enhanced further when the Debit Cards come on stream.

High commendations were given to the Accountant General, Social Services, Sustainable Development and Statistics for their efforts in operationalizing the programme.
