PSA – Pre-Service Training for Perspective Teachers

PUBLIC NOTICE

The Ministry of Education is currently accepting applications for teaching positions to be filled for the upcoming 2018-2019 school year.

ALL applicants will be obliged to attend a two (2) week Pre-Service Seminar/Workshop at the Multi-Purpose Room at the Burdon Street campus, Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College. The Pre-Service Seminar will run from Monday, 9th to Friday, 20th July, 2018.

Successful applicants will be drawn from those who have the minimum qualifications. Individuals who wish to teach at the Early Childhood or Primary Level MUST have at least FIVE CSEC subjects, including English Language, Mathematics, a Social Science subject (History/Social Studies/Geography) and a Science subject.

Individuals who wish to teach at the Secondary Level, MUST possess at least FIVE CSEC subjects including English Language and the relevant passes at the CAPE Level or above for the Secondary/High School.

Additionally, prospective teachers will be required to sit a literacy and numeracy test.

ALL applications should reach the Ministry of Education, addressed to the Chief Education Officer, no later than Friday, 8th June, 2018.
