SKN PULSE, Monday 19, December, 2016 -The final of the Sugar Mas Cup kicked off on Sunday 18 December at Warner Park. It was HE Garden HotSpurs vs Rams Village Superstars.
Having entered the Cup at the bottom of the pack, Rams Village Superstars weren’t deterred. They came out aggressive and in the 41st minute, Kimaree Rogers, penetrated the defence and hit the back of the net as Village took and early lead in the game.
G’ Vaune Amory added to the Village goal tally when he too placed the ball in the back of the net in the 59th minute.
With the minutes fading in the game Saddler of Spurs found the back of the net in the 81st minute. Time however ran out on Spurs.
As such, Village Superstars managed to edge out HE Garden Hotspurs 2 goals to 1 and were crowned the 2016 Champions.
The league breaks for the carnival season and would resume in January. Teams would be competing for the Easter Cup.
