Basseterre, St. Kitts, November 14, 2017 – Two daring robberies were reported over the weekend in St. Kitts, with thieves making off with over EC$300,000 in furniture, valuables and cash.

Last Thursday night, robbers emptied the Mattingly Heights cottage of a prominent retired businessman. No one occupied the cottage at the time.

“The cottage was cleaned out of almost everything,” a reliable source said. Furniture and valuables were removed leaving the house looking like a “dancehall.”

The furniture, valuables and other household effects run into well over EC$300,000 said another source.

On Monday morning word spread that Vibes Beach Bar on the popular Frigate Bay Strip was broken into and nearly EC$10,000 was stolen.

Police have not issued a statement on both robberies as well as other crimes committed over the weekend.

The lone press release posted November 13th2017 on the FaceBook page of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) was that the team from the St. Kitts-Nevis Defence Force (SKNDF) had won this year’s Security Forces Road-Relay held on Sunday 12th November.
