Basseterre, St. Kitts, March 18, 2018 – Six cows, two of which were in calf, were shot and killed when they strayed into the prison farm at Needsmust Estate on Sunday afternoon.

According to a source, the prison authorities then called in several prisoners to butcher the cows to provide meat for the prison inmates at 1840.

The owner of the cows reportedly went to the scene and expressed his dismay and later lodged a formal complaint at the Basseterre Police Station.

The volley of bullets sent children attending Sunday school at the Peoples Evangelistic Church running for cover.
