SUSPECT IN CUSTODY FOLLOWING EARLY MORNING SHOOTING INCIDENT

A suspect was taken into Police custody on Sunday, March 15, in relation to a shooting incident that occurred outside

The shots were fired sometime after 7 a.m. Sunday.

According to a police statement, the rider of a motorcycle fired gun shots into the air along the stretch of Cayon Street leading up to the Queen Victory Roundabout.

On that street is the Basseterre Police Station, Bargain Centre, Potential Bar and other entities.

Minutes after the incident, members of the Crime Scene Unit were seen outside the Police Station and along the street processing the area.

While investigations are ongoing, police are seeking the assistance of the general public.
