Basseterre, St Kitts, May 31, 2020 – Supporters of the prime minister Dr Timothy Harris’ Team Unity coalition interrupted the flow of a massive St Kitts-Nevis Labour Party (SKNLP) motorcade late Sunday afternoon.

At least four vehicles sped around the nearby Camp’s round-a-bout without restriction just outside the Campaign Office of the Team Unity candidate for West Basseterre.

Other vehicles blocked the procession on the main road outside Caribbean Cinema.
Police later brought the motorcade to a premature end and prevented the several miles long motorcade from entering the capital of Basseterre.

“It is evident that the traffic cops chose not to be around to stop this blatant traffic violation,” said several bystanders and motorists.

Several police vehicles proceeded the motorcade but were not around as the vehicles displaying campaign material of the ruling coalition drove around the round-a-bout several times.

Last Friday, following agreements between the Attorney General and the legal team for the St Kitts-Nevis Labour Party (SKNLP) High Court judge His Lordship Mr Trevor Ward QC ordered the Government to enforce the State of Emergency fairly and that ZIZ provide equal news and current affairs coverage.
