The Mighty T reigns supreme: Singing Sensation dethroned

Basseterre, ​St. Kitts and Nevis, (SKN PULSE) – Paired with the Miss Talented Teen Pageant, the Junior Calypso show provided a clear indication that the Calypso art form in the Federation is in good hands. The friendly rivarly between the Mighty Sookie and Singing Sensation has finally been settled since the Mighty T has dethroned the reigning queen and the Mighty Sookie placed ahead of Singing Sensation.

Scores of spectators were treated to a very entertaining evening as the young teens in both shows marketed their talents much to the delight of the audience. 

The Mighty T, Tquan MC Dowell was crowned junior Calypso King.

1st runner up went to the Mighty Sookie, (535 points) while second runner up went to Tyrique Jeffers who amassed a total of 521 points.

The 2015-2016 queen of the Junior Calypso competiton was dethroned. Singing Sensation was only able to score 486 points. That earned her the 3rd runner up spot.

The Juniors performed in the following order:

1. Jahnika Francis: Laddy Jen – Solid As A Rock, 2. Akedo Nisbett: Prince Akedo – Gun Factory, 3. Tresjeur Dedier: Empress Trej – Change, 4. Tyrique Jeffers: Simply Mighty – Cool With School, 5. Jahniah Roach: Lady Niah – I Want To Be A Hero, 6. Tquan Mc.Dowell: Mighty T – From The Grave, 7. Shomari Mitchell: Mighty Sookie – Let’s Stand Up, 8. Tiandra Francis: Singing Sensation – Black Lives Matter
