Christopher Gayle has returned to his home team – The Jamaica Tallawahs have signed the veteran T20 player as their Marquee Player for the 2019 Hero Caribbean Premier League season.

Gayle, the leading T20 batsman of all time, is the only player with more that 10,000 runs in the format. The self proclaimed ‘World Boss’ is the leading CPL run scorer with 2111 runs and has scored three CPL hundreds, (scored hundreds while playing for Tallawahs).

Gayle last played with the Tallawahs in 2016. During his three year stint with the Tallawahs in the CPL, Jamaica won the title twice in that period.

In 2017, Gayle signed with the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots. As a Patriot, he captained the team to the playoffs in successive years with a final appearance in his very 1st year, 2017.

Jefferson Miller, COO of the Jamaica Tallawahs, is delighted to have Chris Gayle playing for the home team. In a press statement released earlier he said:

We are delighted to have Chris playing for his home team for the 2019 season. There is no bigger name in Twenty20 cricket, and we can’t wait for him to arrive and make the Jamaican fans proud. We are looking forward to Chris being a big part of our push for a third CPL title.

This year’s Hero CPL will take place between 4 September to 12 October. The CPL Players Draft takes place on 22 May.
