TWO CHARGED IN RELATION TO HAIR SALON BREAK-INS

Basseterre, St. Kitts, March 09, 2018 (RSCNPF): Investigations into a number of beauty salon break-ins that have taken place in Nevis led the Officers there to execute a search warrant in St. Kitts. The break-ins occurred between late last year and the end of February 2018.

The search was conducted on Sunday (March 04) on the premises of Akeem Whyte and Deslia DeSuza of Parrys Village, Monkey Hill by Police Officers from the Criminal Investigations Departments in both St. Kitts and in Nevis. As a result of the search, large amounts of a variety of hair products and a television were recovered and taken into Police custody. The items recovered are valued in excess of $40,000.

26-year-old Akeem Whyte was subsequently arrested and charged with one count of Larceny, one count of Building Break-in and Larceny, as well as two counts of Receiving. 30-year-old Deslia “Dez” DeSuza was charged with two counts of Building Break-in and Larceny and two counts of Receiving. They were both charged on Tuesday (March 06).

Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
