SKN PULSE – Four Candidates of the Nevis Reformation Party over the weekend made their pitch to nationals and friends in Miami, New York and Boston as they seek to rally troupes to line up with the NRP.

Daniel, Hector, Browne and Tyson impressed upon their audience the urgent need to change the status quo as they outlined their plans for a Nevis with more job opportunities, better healthcare and an improved sports program. Mr. Cory Tyson, caretaker for the Nevis Reformation Party in constituency #3 outlined that one of his plans is to enter into negotiations with the owner of Old Manor Hotel which has been closed for quite a while now.

Old Manor Hotel which is designated as a tourist attraction features cut-stone buildings which were originally erected in the late 1700s and early 1800s. Structures that once housed estate workers were transformed to house comfortable bedrooms and suites but over the years the once vibrant hotel faded into the sunset leaving some persons unemployed and creating a void in the St. George’s Parish.

Tyson is proposing to transform the Old Manor Property into a Hybrid type Hotel which would consists of a Hospitality Training Center and Part Hotel. The idea is to facilitate hospitality training for potential students who desire to make a career in that field while also having guests at the hotel to provide a hands on approach.

Tyson envisions partnering with top tier hotels based in St. Kitts or Nevis like Four Seasons Resort, Park Hyatt, Nisbet Plantation, Marriott Hotel and Koi Resorts to duplicate their amenities which would allow for nationals to be better trained to execute their duties.

Such an initiative as it was explained would allow for trainees to get the necessary certification in their desired area of interest as they would get that hands-on practical experience while on the flip side guests would be able to stay at the hotel for a reduced rate.

According to Mr. Tyson the re-opening of the Old Manor Hotel is an integral part of his plan to provide opportunities for the youth and nationals alike and to expand the job market in the Gingerland area.
