The United States Embassy to Barbados, the Eastern Caribbean, and the OECS recently concluded its Dream Big: Inspiring Women Collage Competition. Using Mattel’s® “Inspiring Women” Barbie Doll series as the inspiration, the U.S. Embassy in Bridgetown invited Girl Guides and Brownies from Antigua, St. Kitts and Nevis and St. Vincent and the Grenadines ages six to ten years old to participate. The girls were tasked with creating a poster collage depicting images of the “Inspiring Women” along with women in their community, country, or throughout the world who inspire them. The quality of the shortlisted work was excellent. The judges, made up of Embassy personnel, commented on how much they had enjoyed reviewing the many submissions. Winners and runners-up received a prize package which included the selected Barbie Dolls.

The winners in each category were:

(Age 6-8 category)

First Place: Bianca Isaac

Other winners: Shajonique Benjamin, Torressa Woodley, Tessa Woodley

(Age 9-10 category)
