Last evening at the Warner Park Stadium, the Winners Circle Newtown defeated Conaree for a second straight time in the Elvis Star Browne Women’s best of three championship final.
Conaree who faced a must win situation, failed to impress. Newtown, prevailed and were crowned champions.
In Game one Newtown defeated Conaree 3 goals to nil. The same story line proved true in game 2, Newtown won, three (3) goals to nil.
Lavern Francis struck the back of the net twice. She scored her first goal in the 42nd minute and the second in the 75th minute. Tyra Wilkinson followed up with the third goal in the 79th minute.
The officials were Tyrone Nisbett, Jasmine Charles, Saskiya Parris and I- Shana Broadbelt, (GC: Cassolis Richardson RA: Kendrea Tully).
