BULGARIAN NATIONAL ARRESTED FOR ALLEGED FRAUD IN ANTIGUA

Antiguan police have arrested a Bulgarian National in connection with alleged fraud involving Automated Teller Machines, (ATMs).

The man,who hasn’t been identified was arrested on Thursday 27th December after police searched his room at a hotel. ABS reported that, “the police found several credit cards and what appeared to be a card-skimming device.”

Investigators allege: “he was able to fraudulently get money from the ATMs on at least two occasions.”

They have not indicated which bank was defrauded, neither have they indicated how much money was allegedly stolen.

Police expect to lay charges early in the new year.

Prior to arriving in Antigua and Barbuda, ABS reported that the man had been living in Canada.

This is the second time this year that a Bulgarian national has been implicated in this activity.

Martin Dimitrov Dachenski was charged with larceny.

He was ordered by the court to repay close to 25 thousand EC dollars which he stole from different ABMs.
