New National Carnival Queen Crowned: Tawanna Collins

Six beauties vied for the coveted title of Miss National Carnival Queen last night at the SugarMill, Warner Park. At the end of intense competition, Miss St. Christopher Air and Sea Port Authority, Tawanna Collins, was crowned the new National Carnival Queen after amassing 1420.5 points.

Collins capped the individual awards for three segments. She was adjuded winner for Best Evening Wear, Best National Pride Costume and Best Performing Talent. Tawanna was also presented with the Ms Photogenic award.

Amassing 1339 points, Miss St. Kitts Nevis Development Bank, Olivia Walters, won the first runner up position. Ms. Walters won the individual award for Best Swimwear. In addition, she walked away with the Chairperson’s award.

The second runner up position was secured by Aravinda Hughes, who was sponsored by The Cable. She tallied 1317.5 points and was adjudged winner of Interview segment.

Desi Brown sponsored by St. Kitts Nevis Anguilla National Bank was adjudged the winner of the Question and Answer Segment. She was also presented with the Queen of Social Media Award.

Anissa Eddy won Miss Amity.

The other contestant in the pageant was Carib Brewery St. Kitts Limited, Merv Ann Thompson.

All contestants received bonus points for early arrival.
