Windies women beat Pakistan by 71 runs in first T20I

KARACHI: West Indies women are off to an impressive start as they beat Pakistan women by 71 runs in the opening T20I at Karachi’s Southend Club on Thursday to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.

Pakistan women were bowled out for a mere 89 runs in reply to Windies’ total of 160-2.

Connell bagged three wickets while selman took 2 wickets. Pakistan skipper Bismah Maroof (38) and Javeria Khan (19) were the main contributors with the bat. None of the other Pakistani players managed double figures.

They were bowled out in 18.2 overs.

In the West Indies innings, Dottin carried the bat with an explosive 90 off 60 balls. Nation scored 50 not out off 35 balls.

Nashra Sandhu bagged one wicket.
