CHARLESTOWN, NEVISJuly 30, 2017 – Raynaldon “X-Ray” Bartlette entered the soca arena in 2015 with two hit songs, “Gyal Bounce It” and “Twerk Team Session”. Since then he has continued to publish music that has been privy to daily airplay on the radio stations of St. Kitts & Nevis and beyond. While he has not entered any formal competitions with his music, he remains competitive by capturing the attention of Soca listeners all over the world. Collaborating with Verhne “DV” Pemberton, X-Ray is ready to unveil his newest musical venture “DVX” shortly after Culturama 43 (C43).

Collectively, Raynaldon “X-Ray” Bartlette and Verhne “DV” Pemebrton have released sixteen studio-recorded songs to date. Six of these songs were released for Culturama 43. X-Ray & DV were considered favourites to compete in the soca monarch and road march competitions but none of two registered for any of them. When asked why they did not participate in any of Culturama’s competitions X-Ray said, “we had to make a decision between releasing two songs and entering soca monarch or releasing six songs and launching DVX; we chose DVX”. In response to their chances of winning the road March competition, X-Ray said, “at this point it is highly unlikely that we will end up the road for J’ouvert and last lap”. ‘However, accomplishing such a feat though, would be delightful’,  said X-Ray. He further stated that, “they are looking forward to their launch party coming up right after the C43”. X-Ray has guaranteed that they will close off the season right!

With the group releasing as many songs as the other bands in Nevis, many public figures as well as fans and C43 patrons have endorsed their contribution to this year’s Nevis Culturama Festival.

DVX has caught the attention of several well-known Nevisian public figures including Hon. Robelto Hector, Collin Tyrell, Hensley Daniel, Halstead “Sooty” Byron, Timothy Caines, Sazam Hull, Yahsonn “DJ Shaddan” Tafari and Oscar “King Astro” Browne. They all took to social media to endorse X-Ray & DVX for their musical contribution. Quoting Hensley Daniel (Former Minister of Culture): “Performance matters! DVX released 6 songs, Kore released 6 and Odisi released 5/6. According to Daniel, from his point of view, they have contributed in a major way just as our other bands did. The former culture minister further commented that, “the Ultra Sonic Band and Xzibit Band have died in front of our eyes since I left office and I have not been hearing much about D’Ultimate Band and Kassanova”. He opined, “it is only right that we embrace this energetic new group and do what we can to promote them, as we should do with all talent originating from Nevis!”

DVX is currently preparing to launch on the 11th and 12th of August in Nevis and St. Kitts respectively. DVX’s music can be accessed online at https://soundcloud.com/xraynaldonb/track s or https://www.youtube.com/user/DJXRayAYard
